Our Thorough Examination includes LOLER & PUWER

KS Lift Trucks has been awarded accreditation for the conduct of Thorough Examination under the CFTS Quality Assurance Procedural Code.

We can perform LOLER 98 examinations and PUWER 98 examinations on all types of fork lift trucks, materials handling equipment, and lifting equipment.

Our Thorough Examination includes LOLER 98 & PUWER 98, and can be done onsite at a time to suit you.  We also offer a monthly payment plan to spread the cost over the year, and notify you when your testing is due.

Are Separate Attachment Inspections Required?

It is not uncommon for many users of material handling equipment to be unsure about the types of attachments that require an integral inspection as part of the truck, and those needing an independent examination.

For your understanding, permanent fixtures like side shifts and rotator arms are considered part of the primary lifting mechanism. Therefore, these elements must be included within a Thorough Examination that satisfies both LOLER and PUWER requirements.

Non-permanent add-ons such as platforms, MEWPs, crane grabbers, and more need to be examined by a qualified inspector at least twice yearly. This could potentially be more frequent than the actual equipment they are fitted to. Importantly, non-compliance in either situation may result in legal consequences as enforced by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

We hope this helps you better navigate the intricacies of Thorough Examinations and material handling equipment inspections. Remember, at KS Lift Trucks, we’re always here to assist you with your specific needs and queries.
